The Panasonic NV-GS180E in "PAL" is an ultra-compact 3-CCD Digital Video camcorder that offers precise image quality and color accuracy. The camera sports three CCD imagers, each with 740,000 pixels. These combine with the Quad-Density Pixel Distribution Technology, to deliver 2.3 Mega Pixel digital still images to an SD card.

Owners of the NV-GS180E also enjoy Electronic Image Stabilization for bumpy shooting conditions, a 10x optical zoom lens, hot shoe, and 16:9 wide-screen recording mode. Three-CCD

The 3-CCD technology reproduces color in great fidelity, with a separate CCD for reds, greens and blues. It's the same technology used in Panasonic professional broadcast equipment, resulting in 540 lines of breathtaking resolution.

Quad-Density Pixel Distribution Technology

This highly advanced technology was originally developed for broadcast-quality cameras to help maximize picture quality. It is accomplished by the use of both vertical and horizontal pixel shifting to yield improved clarity and performance.

Built-In Digital Still Camera

The still mode is capable of capturing crystal-clear still images of up to 2.3 mega pixels. The high-picture quality images are stored on a removable MultiMedia or SD (Secure Digital) memory card that is independent of the video recording.

3-Way PC Link

With this camcorder, you have three convenient ways to transfer still images to the computer: Card Link, Photovu Link and iLink (IEEE-1394). The IEEE 1394 PC interface makes it easy to upload stills and moving pictures to computers, where they then can be edited, included in e-mail messages, or used in the creation of Web sites. Additionally, it features a USB 2.0 high-speed port.

RapidFire Consecutive PhotoShot

The still pictures can be recorded on an SD card at regular intervals in 640 x 480 picture size.
When pressing the PhotoShot button the still pictures can be recorded in approximately 0.5 seconds intervals until the PhotoShot button is released, up to 10 pictures can be recorded.

MagicPix Images with LCD Light Panel

This feature is a great way to record still images, even in low-light settings. Now you can capture still images in full color onto the camcorder's Mini DV tape. The subject's illumination can be further enhanced, since the versatile LCD panel also can be used to provide additional light.

Easy Cassette Eject

A one-touch, top-eject system makes it easy to insert or remove a tape, even when it's mounted on a tripod.

Cinema Mode

Lets it record video in wide-screen mode, giving you a 16:9 aspect ratio that's the same as a movie screen. When played back on a television, the result is dramatic looking cinema-like movies at home.
