Warranty & Returns
What is the warranty period for your products?
All of our products come with a 12-month Return to Base warranty unless stated otherwise. The warranty period begins from the date of purchase.
We also offer an option to extend the warranty period on select laptops and desktop computers to a total of 24 months. The cost to extend the warranty is: $95.
What does the warranty cover?
Our 12-month Return to Base warranty covers any hardware defects that may arise under normal usage conditions. If you encounter any issues with your refurbished computer's hardware during this period, simply return it to us. We will repair or replace the device at no additional cost to you. This warranty is designed to give you peace of mind, ensuring that you're protected against any unexpected hardware failures. Note that the warranty does not cover software issues, accidental damage, user data, or problems resulting from misuse or improper handling.
How can I make a warranty claim?
If you've purchased the product from our website, please submit a Return Authorisation (RA) ticket on our website's customer support page.
For products that were purchased from our East Brisbane retail store, you're welcome to return the product to the store's location for warranty claims.

Refund and Return Policy
All products sold by Australian Computer Traders are second hand and refurbished unless otherwise specified.
Our warranty covers items which are not functional due to a specific hardware fault. This applies to all components, including fans, hard drives, keyboards, touchpads, LCD panels, hinges, USB ports, unless specifically excluded. Consumable parts such as laptop batteries or printer toners are not covered under warranty. Batteries are used unless specified otherwise and are provided with a minimum of 1-hour guarantee. Malfunctions caused by software issues such as viruses and operating system errors are not covered under warranty.
Under the Trade Practices Act 1974 you may seek a refund if goods:
• are or become faulty through no fault of your own
• are not fit for a stated purpose or a purpose you made known to our sales staff
• don’t match our description or sample
RA Warranty Return Policy
AUSTRALIAN COMPUTER TRADERS requires a Return Authorisation (RA) number for all returns. You may initiate a return and request your RA number by completing the Warranty Form.
RA numbers are valid for 30 days. RA numbers will not be extended and will be closed upon expiration; you must contact us for a new RA number if more than 30 days have passed since your initial RA number was issued.
Once the RA number has been issued, you will receive an email explaining the return process. The RA number must be displayed on the outside of all packages; multiple-box shipments must have the RA number on all packages returned. Unauthorised or unmarked returns will not be processed and may be refused upon receipt and/or shipped back at the customer’s expense.
It is your responsibility to make sure that we receive the product and that it arrives without any physical damage. To return your product, safely pack it and all the accessories into the original box (where possible) in which it arrived. Please make sure that there is ample protective material around the product and any accessories. The RA number must be displayed on the outside of the package. Product(s) damaged during shipment will invalidate both the warranty and RA and will be returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.
You may return any product that is still under warranty for a Warranty Claim. Australian Computer Traders offers a Return-to-Base Warranty with all our items. This means that you are responsible for returning the Items covered by Warranty to our Brisbane office at your expense. You may choose any means of return shipping you wish.
Please note when returning items, please select a shipping method that provides a tracking service and consider insuring the product for the amount of your original purchase price in the event the item goes missing. Australian Computer Traders is not liable for any losses incurred in posting the item(s) back.
Upon completion of your Warranty Claim, Australian Computer Traders will contact you for the return of the item and/or offer a refund/credit. Return shipping costs apply.

No Restocking Fees: We don't believe in penalising our valued customers with hidden charges. Rest assured, there are no restocking fees applied to change of mind returns.

DOA or Functional Returns
If you experience a functional problem with your hardware or if the item is Dead-on-Arrival (DOA), you can contact us for a Return Authorisation (RA). Items covered by this policy may be eligible for free return shipping. Please contact us with a description of the issue. Once you contact Australian Computer Traders, we will first try to remedy the situation. In many cases, a simple solution will solve the problem. If we determine that warranty service is required, we will issue an RMA number and email a link to print a pre-paid return shipping label.
IMPORTANT NOTE: AUSTRALIAN COMPUTER TRADERS does not accept return shipments without an RMA number.
Packages that arrive without an RA number may be returned at your expense.
